SALAM MANIS DARI INDONESIA (the mural) depicts many things that happened in Indonesia from 1998 till 2001 (when I created this wall painting). Those figures reflect the fall of Soeharto, the presidential election, militarism, our damaging environment, culture, ethnic and religion clashes and so on. Of course all figures are my own creation. It was a commissioned work during "AWAS! Recent Art From Indonesia" - a group show of Indonesian contemporary young artists that was touring Australia, Japan, Europe and Indonesia from 2000 till 2002.
